3 AM launch? Are you nuts?
The alarm sounds off at 3 AM. Of course Bob was already up, buttons pushed engaging the coffee machine to ready for its long day ahead. The big Cat engines are lit and warmed as we untie & leave our marina home for the last month. Heading out of the harbor, it’s dark so we rely on the radars & charts to guide ourselves out to sea. As the sun begins to light the sky and mountainous landscape, the seas become alive to us. We spot what looks like it could be the beginning of a water spout, then a second and third spout puffs out of the water. What a sight to see so many whale surrounding us as they migrate south. A gorgeous display from the sun sprayed sparkling diamonds dancing across small wave crests of the sea. A lone small seal pokes his head above the surface, says hi, then scurries back to surf the wake we’ve created. What lies ahead as we cruise through Mexico for the next several months?
