There are so many things that are great about being on the Sea. You literally unplug. There’s something so calming & relaxing about the ocean . We ran through a serious safety drill the day before departure to make sure we were all on top of things in the unlikely event of something happening at sea. Bob has an 8 man life raft We ended up watching video on it. What an amazing raft. For anyone who wants to geek out you can see the video of deploying the raft. It’s so nice to know Bob takes this very seriously to invest in the best.
I Garmin chart plotter & radar are the stars of the helm but it’s the older Ray Marine Radar that gives me the comfort to be at the helm on my own at night. It picks up on everything

it’s 10:30 and dark. My shipmates have gone to bed hoping to catch some sleep before their shift is on. It’s amazing what goes through your mind as you plod along. It’s so different than traveling in sunlit hours. Everything closes in on you as you try to discern where the horizon is. No longer are dolphin, seals and whales entertaining you. You look out to the sky and focus on a lone star. And suddenly it darts across the sky. At. First you think “is that a UFO? Then you realize it’s just the boat swinging from a rouge cross swell creating the optical illusion. It’s an incredible time to reflect, feel grateful for the opportunity to experience the vastness of the ocean and its glory
